Closets - Some Tips For Refurbishing a Closet

If there’s one thing that every house needs besides a bathroom, it’s closets. There is never enough closet space in most homes as most people tend to have more than what they actually need and you just can’t keep junk out everywhere in the open. Newer homes seem to have caught onto this as more and more homes are now built with bigger closets and more of them.

California closets is, of course, one of the most successful companies who come in and do closet makeovers. It is truly amazing what they can accomplish. Now there are many competitors to them though so make sure you get lots of quotes if you’re looking to have your closets redone anytime soon.

Another good tip is to truly design closets around what works the best, not just appearance. If you have more clothes that need to be hung up versus only a small amount that require drawers, then don’t have too many if any drawers added into your closets. Remember the real purpose of organizing a closet is to make it work for your functionally. Aesthics should always be a secondary concern.

Selecting the right company to install closets is crucial. You should demand several references and search high and wide online to see if anyone has something negative to say about them. If so, don’t be afraid to confront them with it and see how they react. I have heard many horror stories of people who found out after they hired a company that there were numerous complaints filed online or with the better business bureau. Do your homework and don’t be afraid to just say no if it doesn’t feel right to you.

The cost of closets depends on multiple factors. The biggest one is the size. The next biggest one is probably the number of features you want on it. If you want fancy design patterns in the face of it, it’s going to be an expensive closet. As I said above, I personally believe you should always have a closet that is there for functionality first and appearance is second. So do some homework and ask lots of questions. Don’t commit to anything with any closet company until you are 100% sure that’s what you want and it’s a price that you feel comfortable with. Best of luck to you!
